Who looks after your data
DTMARKET LIMITED, trading as New Haul, is the controller of your personal data. You can write to us at 57 Motum Road, Norwich, NR5 8EH or email newhaul@newhaul.shop.
Just browsing
You can look around the whole shop without telling us anything. We don't set cookies on your device to follow you, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) to keep the site running and secure.
When you place an order
We collect:
- your name and delivery address, to post your order;
- your email address, to tell you about your order and handle any returns;
- what you bought and what you paid, as a record of the sale;
- if you choose to tell us, how you heard about us — it helps a small shop know what's working. It's optional.
We use this to carry out our contract with you, to keep the records tax law requires, and — for the optional question — because we have a legitimate interest in understanding how people find us. We never use it for marketing unless you've asked us to.
Payments are handled by Stripe. You enter your card details on Stripe's secure page; we never see or store your card number. Stripe processes payment data under its own privacy policy.
Who else handles it
- Vercel hosts the website. Pages are built on its servers in London and delivered through its worldwide network. Vercel is a US company.
- Neon runs our database, stored in London.
- Stripe processes payments.
Where your data is handled outside the UK, it's protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as adequacy regulations or the UK's international data transfer agreement. We don't sell or share your data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for 6 years, because tax law requires it. After that they're deleted. Emails about an order are kept for as long as they're useful for handling it and any return or complaint.
Cookies
We don't use cookies for tracking, analytics or advertising. That's why you haven't seen a cookie banner.
We use just two cookies, both strictly necessary, so neither needs your consent:
- Your basket (
nh_basket). Only set once you add something. It holds the product codes and quantities you've picked — nothing about you — and expires after 30 days, or as soon as you empty your basket. - Staff sign-in. Used by our own staff when they manage the shop. Shoppers never receive it.
Just browsing? You get no cookies at all.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that's wrong;
- delete it, where we don't need to keep it by law;
- restrict how we use it, or object to us using it;
- send it to you, or another company, in a portable format.
Email newhaul@newhaul.shop and we'll reply within a month. It's free.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
